Arbuckle-Simpson Nature Festival

May 1-3, 2009

                  Our Vision Statement

Please Join Us!

The Arbuckle-Simpson Nature Festival is a non-profit, community based effort intended to share the beauty and diversity of our backyard--here in the heart of southcentral Oklahoma and the Chickasaw Nation--with others who are also interested in its protection.

The Arbuckle-Simpson area is rich in clean water resources.  This region overlies a tremendous groundwater feature—the Arbuckle-Simpson aquifer—that feeds our abundant springs, streams, and river systems.  Recognizing the value of these water systems to our economy and our quality of life, the Arbuckle-Simpson Nature Festival hosts a series of events during the first weekend of May, each year, intended to share the beauty and diversity of our backyard with others who are also interested in its protection.

Our mission is:

To advance awareness and understanding of this native Oklahoma-including its physical landscapes, flora, and fanna

To increase interest in efforts to protect our natural areas, public lands, wildlife, and waters

To encourage visitors to explore our backyard, to enjoy its beauty, and to have fun with us

Our hope is to establish the Arbuckle-Simpson Nature Festival to grow it into a self-sustaining, annual eco-tourism event for the benefit of the region, its residents, and our visitors.

We hope you will join us!
